Are you feeling a little overwhelmed and are ready to just enjoy your life again? Here are a few ways to enjoy your summer!
1. Read a Book
If you're anything like me, you have about 10 different books you want to read, but feel you never have the time. Well this summer challenge yourself to pick up that book and read! Make it part of your daily routine where you get to spend some time every evening enjoying time to yourself. Sounds nice doesn't it?
2. Go Swimming
Swimming is such a great work out. It uses so many different muscles in your body and can be a great way to clear your mind. You don't need to speed swim the front crawl, just take your time and go at your own pace.
3. Wake up to Watch the Sun Rise
I know in the summer the sun is coming up pretty early, but grab that cup of coffee, sit, and watch the sun come up. It's great to start your day not rushed and focused.
4. Go for a Walk
Pick your favorite place to walk and just go! You don't need to have a plan on where you will end up or how long it will take. Just go!
5. Ride your Bike
This is a great way to get some exercise while seeing some beautiful sights. You can cover a lot of ground on your bike. Pack some water and some snacks and make an afternoon out of it.
6. Watch a Thunderstorm
There is something so relaxing about listening to the rain fall during a storm. Take a seat (somewhere safe) and watch the storm as it gets stronger and then finally fades away. Pay attention to all of the sights and sounds you are seeing and hearing.
7. Go to a Garage Sale or Two
Pick out a few different sales around your town and go find your hidden treasure. This is a great way to get out and be a little social. You might even find something you have been looking for! One's trash is another's treasure, right?!
8. Have a Cookout
This just screams summer! The smell of that charcoal can just make your mouth water. The weather is finally nice so get outside and cook your dinner. Be creative and try new things each time.
9. Try Paddle Board Yoga
Most people think Yoga is hard enough. Well, try it on a paddle board in the middle of a lake! What a great way to strengthen your body while using mindfulness to center yourself. It is always good to challenge yourself and learn new skills. This might be just the thing for some of you this summer.
10. Volunteer
Summer often brings many different events that are always looking for volunteers. Pick one and help support your local community.
